Hands down the best burger yet! I got the smash burger with avocado. I am in love! Worth driving out of the way a bit. The owner (Darcy) and her assistant were on top of everything. Fresh ingredients and the best hamburger patty! Sorry the photo was all that's left. Next time I'll cut the burger in half and share that photo.

I ordered a hot dog with just ketchup, mustard, and relish. It as fine. I wish the temperature was hotter. For the price of a dog, I’m not sure I will be back. The people running the stand are awesome. Super nice. It’s a stand, so you order and get your food and eat in your car or at the park bench.

I’ve had smash burgers here, always good so this time I had soup and a sandwich both were delicious. It was Chicken poblano soup, lots of chicken and excellent flavor. The sandwich was a special. I don’t remember the name but it had apple and Brie cheese with arugula, Larrapin mayo, and balsamic vinaigrette reduction.It was a panini sandwich and very good. It needed more apple as there was only two thin slices so I really couldn’t taste it.

Absolutely wonderful food! The food is quality and very fresh. Friendly workers, beautiful and relaxed picnic table setting to eat. You all made my birthday lunch very special to me!

Just about every time I pass through Blue Lake I have a dog at The Dog House. It is a friendly place with freindly customers. Who does not love a well put together hot dog? And just about any fill that you could wish for, too.

My family and I are from London UK and on a holiday in California. We were on a road trip driving back down south from the Redwood forests to San Francisco. We needed a quick stop for lunch off of the 101 highway and the next exit was Blue Lake. It must have been fate that brought us here. I googled ‘cafe in Blue Lake’ hoping for a quick coffee and a sandwich, but we discovered The Dog House. A locally run small hotdog/food hut which served the best hotdogs we have ever had. I had the Korean Dog, which had the most amazing homemade kimchi in it. I am obsessed with kimchi so it was meant to be. My husband had the Chilli Dog and my mother in law and kids and regular dogs (puppy dogs for the children, which were the perfect size). The friendly owner (I forgot to ask her name) was very warm and friendly and chatted to us for a while. They also do salads and dinner in the evenings.

It is small finds like this that make our USA travels so special. Small towns, good people and good food is what life is all about. If we lived in Blue lake we would be there every day.

My kids loved the owners actual small dogs who greeted us when we arrived!!

Thanks for the hospitality and great food we would recommend to anyone!! Xxx
