Excited to try a new restaurant in Pagosa, alas, not new just a new name. Sweet concept but for a restaurant the food should be the focus and it isn't.
The winner of this visit was the fried mushroom, though they also had an off-putting texture. The dishes look yummy but flavor and texture (possibly cooking oil needed changing) just don't land.
San Juan Eatery is the former Lost Cajun with same offerings without the franchise.
Friendly service, that definitely has a passion and heart for animals.

My husband and I were here a few times back in December under the previous franchise name. The food is just as good now and it was a couple of months ago. What’s enhanced is the menu! You have more of a variety but still the fried seafood. The fried shrimp & hush puppies are made to perfection & my husband had the chicken fried steak. Muagh…. With the kiss of finger tips as the Italians do. Thank you Robert for the unforgettable customer service you display. Here are a couple of pictures I must add. I’m a little backwards here on how a good review with photos is traditionally done. But…the pictures will speak volumes, lol.
Lastly, I mustn’t (I’m from Texas) forget to mention that the beer is COLD here.

We had an early dinner here. We always came when it used to be a Cajun place, but we have known the owner for a little while just coming to the previous restaurant to eat. We love the food here at San Juan!! The menu has more variety and everything we ate we enjoyed! The Baby Ray’s shrimp on the nibblers(appetizers) was amazing and our teenage grandsons loved them! The bisque is really good, as well as the shrimp tacos and the chicken fried steak! Definitely a place you must try when in Pagosa! Please check it out!!!

Phenomenal!! We come to Pagosa Springs every March for spring break. Since we’re only here a few nights; our choices of restaurants is important. San Juan Eatery is top of our list now! We were loyal customers of The Lost Cajun, and we were relieved to see familiar faces, similar flavors but improved dishes. Love the local owner component and giving back to the city we have grown to love!

Wow! What a great dining experience. It was slow when we got here and the owner, Amanda, sat down and chatted with us! So great getting to know her a bit. And then the food came! Oh my goodness. So delicious! Highly recommend!

Absolutely Delicious!

My wife and I popped in here for lunch and didn't regret it.
I had the best shrimp sandwich I've ever eaten here.
My wife got the Sassy's Alfredo and it was perfect!
Definitely recommend this gem.

The best meal we’ve had in Pagosa Springs this weekend! We had the shrimp soup, fried chicken sandwich, chicken fried steak, and the catfish and fries, all of which were delicious. The service was wonderful, very friendly and inviting, as well as prompt and accommodating. Our kids haven’t eaten that much in a long time, they loved it. The atmosphere was great and perfect for families. The nod to animal rescues kept our littles entertained while we waited for our food as well. We will definitely be back again.

Just eat here! The food was perfect! The view of the sunset over the mountains held our attention as we had a minimal wait for our food. Amanda runs a great business. She takes pride in the quality of the food served. We enjoyed meeting her and eating a great home cooked meal after a day of skiing.
