If you’re in Leadville. This great old shop is a must. They have a huge variety of everything and anything to do with rocks. The staff is knowledgeable on the history of Leadville. Had more fun just looking around in here and just asking questions. We ended up buying several different products that are found exclusively in lake county. You can tell this is a family run store. It shows in how much they care about their community. Great find.

The Rock Hut is a really neat place to walk around and window shop. I say this because a lot of their items are extremely pricey, even for Colorado! Either way, there are a lot of fossils, quartz, and various other stones to look at. If you're in town this should be a stop you make, if only just to window shop!

The Rockhut by far is the best shop in Leadville. Even if youre not a fossil and gem expert there is something for everyone (even kids) I always find the best jewelry. Jewelry that people comment on like my moldavite. Dan is so knowledgeable on the rare fossils i was looking at. Heidi helped me find the most beautiful statement piece and Sue showed me how my ruby glowed under blacklight, who knew Not me!!! Anyways...I love this place. I'll post some pictures of the AMAZING finds I've brought home.

I love the Rock Hut!! Spent so much time here looking at amazing rocks. Purchased my most favorite rock at this shop. I wish I didn’t live so far away from Leadville otherwise I’d be here all the time!

This is my son's favorite store. He spends well over an hour every time we visit Leadville. The very nice woman at the register was so kind and patient with my son today, who is just learning to keep a wallet and pay for his own things. Thank you for the excellent service.

It's been more than 10 years since our last trip to the area, so glad to find this store is still in business.

Seems to have much less inventory than we remembered, with numerous shelves more than half empty. Maybe that's an intentional decision like many stores have faced? Or maybe it's just that we were there after peak summer season?

Staff was friendly; even provided a small display stand at no extra charge for a crystal my husband purchased.
