Luigi's was always a special treat when I used to work in Concord regularly. The sandwiches were always delicious and the ingredients they use were always fresh. I found myself back in Concord and was so excited to grab lunch here. I ordered my usual (Pavorotti) because there's nothing better than sprouts in a sandwich. I'm sorry to say it missed the mark this time.

1) The ambiance just wasn't there. This is subjective, I know, but it does impact the overall experience. The staff was not very welcoming and you can tell they were just there for a paycheck. The lady who made my sandwich definitely looked like she didn't want to be there.
2) The sandwhich consists of 5 components: garlic mayo, sprouts, tomatoes, turkey, and bacon. As you can see in the picture, there was hardly any sprouts. It was missing that fresh component to offset the strong garlic flavor of the mayo. Speaking of the mayo, I bit into a huge chunk of garlic, which threw me off as well. On a positive note, the dutch crunch seemed fresh and chewy.
Given the lack of sprouts and the sandwich only having 2 slices of bacon, I don't think it's worth the price.

My sandwich appeared to be big at first but the contents were fairly small. I even noticed that my sandwich was missing tomatoes half way through, I was distracted by the amount of bread I had to chew that I didn't notice the missing tomatoes. The taste is great but the contents were not a lot.

I always like coming to Luigi's for an Italian Dagwood when I'm in the area. I stopped by today to pick up a sandwich and when I got to my destination I was extremely disappointed and dissatisfied. Normally there's so much meat on my sandwich that I can barely open my mouth wide enough to take a bite. Today I opened the sandwich and there was literally two slices of each meat. Look at the photo that Lawrence Williams posted 3 years ago. That's how it's supposed to look. I posted two pics of my sandwich on the website. There was a new girl with glasses working there today. I've never seen her before. Maybe she just needs to be properly trained on how to make sandwiches. I get more lunch meat on a sandwich at Safeway and for $15 I think I got ripped off. It was pretty pitiful. Next time I stop in I will speak with the manager. The ladies that have been working there for years know how to do it right. I'm sorry to say that this is the first time I had a bad experience like this. I've been coming here for years. Please don't make me choose another sandwich shop!

Been back twice recently and the tall younger guy has been making me amazing sandwiches for my fiance and I. Takes a little longer than your chain sandwich places but wow is it worth it. The bread is top tier compared to Mr Pickles, Jersey Mikes etc…

My sandwich was fantastic, but my boyfriend's sandwich was disgusting...so Luigi's gets 3 ☆. I had the Tuscan Veggie on sourdough. The veggies, cheese and spread worked beautifully together. I knew the sourdough wasn't the best choice for Italian fillings but I had a feeling the bread would be authentic here, and I was happy to be right! The roll was humongous, chewy and sour! The fillings didn't all squeeze out the back either! However, my boyfriend ordered the crab melt. When the order came it looked fabulous and it was a huge portion. But it was IMITATION CRAB!!! It wasn't even edible. Here's a tip Luigi's: get real crab, cut the portion in half, charge the same amount. Then we'll come back.
