WARNING: this store overcharges customers!

The price at the register is higher than the displayed price tag. It seems this store has joined other Indian stores in the area in overcharging customers. The price tag said $15.99 for both the Jumbo Punjabi Somoas 25-pack and the mini Punjabi Somoas 45-pack. However, when the older man rang up the item at the register, it said $17.99—not what the price tags say! First, he tried to say that the “lower price” was for the other pack of Somoas – not true because the different price tag said it was the same price of $15.99! I even showed him both price tags. Then he said well, the price has gotten more expensive, but we haven’t updated our price tags. It's not my problem – you should have your price tags match the price displayed at the register. If not, you owe the customer the difference – especially when the customer points out these “errors” and unethical business practices. Since I was with my grandmother, I didn’t want to argue or make a big scene with an older man. And, of course, he did not offer to honor what his price tags say and kept the extra money.

I take my grandmother here almost every weekend after the gurdwara/temple. They overcharged an elderly woman on a fixed income and kept the extra money even after a customer pointed out the error. Just imagine how many people they overcharge every week, month, and year to increase their revenue and profits. Be warned—check the price tag and make sure it matches the price when at the register.

***December 2024 update: My grandmother wanted to go to this store again, so I decided to give it another chance. As you can imagine, I went straight to the samosas. I saw that the stickers still said "$15.99" for the Punjabi Samosa 25-pack and the Punjabi Samosa 45-pack. I went to the register with the samosas pack, and when the person scanned it, it said "$15.99" - the price at the register matched the sticker this time. So this confirms that the old man who was working last time was lying, and I was overcharged by two dollars. I didn't see him working, but the younger workers were all kind and helpful. Even though I was overcharged for an item when the person assisting was wrong, after coming back and seeing the item price pull up correctly at the register and how kind and respectful the staff was to my grandmother, I have decided to increase my rating from one to three stars. Again, I recommend checking the price tag and ensuring it matches the price when at the register. This type of funny business has generally been an issue with Indian stores in the area.

Just bought tea rusk at this place, smells bad, had to throw these in garbage, this place has some unbranded stuff that is so cheap. Stay away from these things

I like shopping at this market . Usually has great selection , & prices are competitive. Recently expanded there ice cream selections & they are delicious.

Overall , great shopping experience but would recommend to remove all unattended merchandise from aisles as it can potentially cause slip/fall injury.

This is a nice family-run business. The yogurt here is great--lots of choices. Great selection of Indian spices, dal, rice, etc. They have only a few greens, but what the do have are seasonal and fresh.

It's a great little Indian market and is you walk to the back of the store you'll find a very nice woman who will thread your eyebrows and give you a beautiful Henna tattoo. It's a funny set up and you'd never know it was there unless someone let you in on the secret. The threading is really cheap, like $5 and Henna is about the same depending on how big of a tattoo you want. I love this little spot. Best kept secret in Roseville.😉
