If you value common human courtesy, skip this restaurant. The fun, whimsical vibe of the place, with its bubble machine, butterfly chair, small mushroom decor, and hula hoops, doesn't match the disappointing experience we had.

I've lived in Palisade for quite some time and was excited to try the delicious-looking menu. Unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. When I arrived I looked at the menu, and then went to the window. I greeted the staff warmly, but received no acknowledgment. After a few moments I instead, I got an annoyed look, and from the tone of the interaction (despite being the only customers), it felt like my presence was an inconvenience.

I initially thought perhaps the staff member didn't hear me or was distracted while cooking. So, I politely asked a simple question about the menu, only to receive a snide and rude response.

If my daughter hadn't already ordered we would have left at that point. After we confirmed that was all in our order she tossed the notification device out the window onto the ledge and said she it would notify us when the food was ready.

That said, my daughter enjoyed her children’s pancakes and fruit and said the syrup was fantastic.

We took the pancakes to the tables outside of Slice of Life Bakery and enjoyed a breakfast burrito and slice of quiche. They always greet you with warmth and a smile and are happy to answer questions or make menu suggestions (not that I needed it, EVERYTHING there is phenomenal).

I’ve gotta say this is hands down the most amazing food from far to in between. I ordered the crab cakes & squash with summer salad and two orders of French toast for my daughter and her friend. WOW! It’s SO good! All of it!!!!! Best crab cakes I’ve had in years!!!!! Yes, yes, & yes! I will always be back!

Holy shit, this burrito didn't even need the salsa that came with it. Normally I'm used to breakfast burritos filled with bland potatoes. This was amazing and the box was filled with fruit. Definitely stopping here every time the dreaded front range trip presents itself. Iced tea was also great!

For many years Palisade has had a serious breakfast problem. There are just precious few places serving food before noon, and out of these limited choices there are even fewer still actually noteworthy. Haus of Purrl has answered this problem by finally offering both locals and wine-hungover tourists alike a worthy morning meal. This tiny food shack isn't slinging basic food truck fare however, but homemade southern delights cooked with whole heaps of love.

Both sweet and savory crepes, as well as really good coffee and tea drinks are delicious menu constants, but her sandwich board daily specials must not be ignored. Soul food delicacies, creole classics and creative breakfast plates often make an appearance and cannot be missed. In the high season the wait can be long, but this mostly one-woman show makes food more than worthy of the extra time needed to craft it. Her courtyard is a charming place to wait or enjoy your takeout in.

The four star rating here is only because of the sheer amount of plastic being used. Other food trucks and taco stands have gotten along just fine with cardboard, paper, and foil. I'd love to see her follow suit and be a better steward to the land. It's the only reason this is just an occasional special treat for me instead of a regular morning meal. Still, as far as breakfast in Palisade is concerned, Haus of Purrl has no equal.

This is by far the best food I had on my trip to Grand junction! The shop and atmosphere are adorable, the service was fantastic, and the food was absolutely incredible! I am excitedly going to eat here every single time I'm in town.

One of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. Shrimp n grits were incredible, the crepes are not small and wimpy - they are big and full of flavor!! Owner is so sweet and clearly loved what she does. So so impressed. Will be driving out to palisade from GJ for breakfast many times to come 🙂

Take out. Got french toast and bacon with very fresh berries. It was delicious. Haus of Purrl is a small building where the food is prepared. It has a large outdoor area and parking lot. Definitely dog friendly!

Enjoying the delicious creations at Haus of Purrl is a divine experience. Everything is made to perfection with love and an incredible attention to detail!
The flavors are magnificent and the creations both sweet and savory are not only unique but magical. The variety is incredible and changes from week to week. We have enjoyed crepes (savory and sweet), beignets gumbo, sandwiches, wraps, pastries, cookies, tarts, grits, fruity drinks, and Po boys... Just to name a few.
There might be a wait as the amazing chef readies your order but it is always worth the time spent.
We are never disappointed and often drive from Denver to enjoy all the amazing dishes she prepares.
What are you waiting for.... Get over there and try something out!
