The Sandwich is not bad and that's the truth. However, the owner is rude and simply spoken, an idiot. He does it all on his own. He can't keep employees there. You wait 20-25 minutes for a sandwich. This is a place you MUST stay away from. Good sandwiches but rude service, dirty area and long, long wait times. With NY Deli and Snarf's opening right next to them, you would think they would shape up but now it's gonna be shape out!

At 12:36pm I walked into Gunbarrel Deli. I ordered a pesto chicken and a Chicken Avocado sandwich both of which were cold when I received them at 1:30pm... Yes, that's right. Please don't ask my why I waited 55 minutes for a sandwich. In that time I watched 4 people leave after getting refunds for their meals because they couldn't wait around. The gentleman just ahead of me had his sandwich waiting on the other end of the toaster for almost 10 minutes while the owner, who BTW: appears to be the only one allowed to make a sandwich, prepped the next 4 sandwiches.

I say he is the only one allowed to make the sandwiches because while no one was at the counter placing orders the kid taking the orders just sat and looked out the window. He wasn't being trained nor did he assist in making sandwiches.

I gave it one star because the only thing good that came out of the experience was that I heard there was another sandwich shop 3 miles away that was much faster. Deli at Flatiron Parkway. I will be going there next time I want a sandwich... or Subway or Quiznos.

I am a sandwich fan. Its my favorite meal. GBD crushes it. Its up there with Snarfs and does we Sammy's way better. The Prime Rib is out of this world. The meatball and tuna are amazing. Get everything on it and you will be very happy. Owner is a nice dude as well. Overall its a top three sammy shop in my book, and I've had lots of sandwiches at lots of places.

I had to relocate my car on the way out, as the Earth's tectonic plates had shifted in the time it took them to make a turkey sandwich.

It is *the* slowest deli in the known universe. I don't know how they do it. I come in at 3:00, there are no other customers, and it still takes over 10 minutes to make a plain turkey & swiss. It would have been faster to go to the grocery store for ingredients and make it myself. The quality is acceptable, just make sure you clear your schedule for the day.

I've been going there for years and watching its steady decline and price hikes. Today I've had my last visit after some horribly rude service and comments from the owner (who is frequently the only employee working the place -- he must be a bast**d to work for). One of my lunchmates got braces earlier in the week so was going to have soup for lunch. The owner refused to sell it to him unless he bought a sandwich to go with it. We tried to explain to the owner the situation -- no dice. I finally told the owner of my years of past patronage and that I would not return given this policy, at which point he became angry and told me "Go away, I don't like you". Fine, I'll do just that. With NY Deli opening across the street any day now (in the old Quiznos space), a Snarfs opening up right around the corner in a few months (in the old Aspen Yogurt space), a Subway a hundred yards away, it's ByeBye for the GB deli. Go away, I don't like you.

Update Dec/2015 -- they finally went out of business. WHAT a surprise!

I've eaten here twice and honestly it's pretty good. I get the Italian and in my opinion it comes very close to Snarf's. Usually it takes some time for them to make it, but it's been worth it each time. I'll always support local business before big corporate businesses like Quizno's and Subway in the same shopping center. Keep your dollars local and give them a shot!

NEVER GO HERE. All the staff appears to have quit on the owner, who is an unfriendly chap. Ordered food @12:32pm, sandwich in hand @1:22pm! That's 50 minutes for a sandwich. Get Quiznos or Subway sub before coming to this place.

The food is good. Sandwiches are better quality than subway, for sure, but lately there's only been the one guy working, so extremely slow. Got some help, but still a little slow. Worth coming if you have time.
