This cafe is a hidden gem! I visited during the last week of December and tried their seasonal matcha latte with strawberry cream, paired with a Hokkaido cheesecake. It was my first time having a matcha drink with fruit, and it was absolutely delightful! The sweetness and slight tartness of the strawberry cream complemented the matcha perfectly. As for the Hokkaido cheesecake, it was a dream come true for a cheesecake lover like me—creamy, not overly sweet, and simply delicious. The cafe itself is a cute little spot with a minimal aesthetic, adding to the overall charm. I can’t wait to return and try their matcha cheesecake next. Their chocolate chip and Dubai chocolate cookies looked tempting too. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

The place is neat and offers seating both inside and outside. It seems like a good spot to study or do some work. They have a few options for pastries and coffee. However, I tried the cappuccino and latte, and both were very weak in flavor; they weren't good.

goodthing coffee is a new small cafe in downtown Burlingame. Matcha is the focus and they serve a few desserts. I really wanted to like this place as I enjoy matcha and the Peninsula is lacking in high quality spots.

Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend anything we tried. The matcha lattes tasted only of milk and the quantity of matcha wasn’t consistent between the drinks. The cookie looked great but was very dry.

I been to many coffee shops in the Bay Area like Coffee Movement, Kaizen, Moonwake, Saint Frank… Goodthing is definitely my favorite one so far! They have many options for beans and they rotate them monthly from different coffee roasters around the world, So I can try different flavors once a while. Their specialty pour overs is my favorite so far in the Bay Area and the location is very convenient for me. Staffs are very nice and friendly to chat with. Overall I really recommend the is place!!

I recently discovered a trendy new coffee shop that’s quickly becoming my favorite spot. The highlight is their einspanner coffee, which is a perfect blend of rich espresso topped with a velvety cream—absolutely divine! They also offer a fantastic pour-over coffee that showcases the unique flavors of their exclusive European beans.

For a sweet treat, don’t miss the matcha yuzu cheesecake. It’s a delightful balance of earthy matcha and citrusy yuzu, making it both refreshing and indulgent. The strawberry shortcake is equally impressive, with layers of fluffy cake and fresh strawberries that feel like a taste of summer.

The atmosphere is vibrant yet cozy, with plenty of outdoor seating that’s perfect for enjoying your coffee in the fresh air. Whether you’re looking for a place to relax or catch up with friends, this coffee shop hits all the right notes. Highly recommended!

Goodthing Coffee has quickly became one of our favorite coffee shops in the Bay Area. A true gem offering single origin specialty coffee, from their espresso drinks (DAK) to pour overs (6 offerings that changes frequently, prepared using Origami and/or Aeropress). This is THE place to visit for specialty coffee. My favorites are the cappuccino, flat white, pour over, and even a simple Americano. Needless to mention the delicious specialty lattes and cheesecakes noted by others. I completely disagree with reviews commenting on the how coffees tasting “weak,” specialty coffees are not suppose to be the traditional bitter, dark roasts. Goodthing’s brews always highlight the distinct flavor profiles of each bean.

I just discovered this jewel! There are few things I like more than a good cup of coffee, which is not as easy to find as one would think. Well, I just received the delightful surprise of an absolutely delicious cup of coffee. I wouldn’t say “next level”. I’d say “next, next level”! It was everything one would expect from high quality beans; balanced flavor, rich and full bodied, aromatic. Chef’s kiss!
The barista, Darren, and his co-worker (didn’t catch her name) were very friendly and warm, and the atmosphere is one of (I call) modern cozy. It made dealing with some difficult emails better.
On my way out, I met Vincent, the owner, and I promptly told him I would be reviewing his wonderful coffee. He’s very nice, and expressed his love for the neighborhood, and hopes for residents to get to know them. The business is pretty new, and I’m always one to get excited (obviously) when I hit gold, so here we are!
Next time, I’ll try a pastry, too.
