Looking for an ice cream shop with truly localized flavors? Bear Coal Soda Fountain had huckleberry ice cream with real huckleberries in them when we visited. (SOOOO GOOD!!!)

Short on cash but wanting to treat yourself? Bear Coal Soda Fountain!! We ordered a single scoop and a double scoop both in waffle cones and it came out to less than $10!!!!

This is a quirky, fun and satisfying place to stop for ice cream or laundry!
Sure, it’s an unconventional combination, but it works.
We visited on a busy Sunday afternoon. There were plenty of people doing laundry and a line for the ice cream/soda fountain.
While the parking lot is small, there is plenty of space across the street. There is also a drive-through window, if you don’t want to park.
The facility is clean. Inside and out, it is tidy and well kept.
Although the soda fountain was busy, the two women working the counter were quick and friendly. They had a large variety of ice cream by the scoop, malts, and other treats, as well as sandwich options.
The Roxy road ice cream cone and chocolate malt we ordered were delicious.
Will definitely be back whenever I come to Craig!

Good ice cream, but a little awkward inside of a laundromat. Service is mostly teenagers working a summer job. Can't really expect much. But still would recommend.

This is not a review for bear coal! More for the lady that runs this laundry mat in the evenings. Put a dollar in the soda machine and it took it. Let her know so she grabbed her OWN dollar put it in, it gave her one and she looked at me and went “well it took mine just fine sir. Don’t know what to tell ya.” It don’t matter that it’s a dollar. It’s principle. I’ll go clean my clothes in the river before I ever give this place another cent 😂

Parking is a mess for customers. Will find another laundry mat. Serving food out of laundry mat is questionable to say the least. I’ll not be back Karen. Get another building . 2 businesses. Two buildings. Spend my money elsewhere. Be ready to be yelled at for coping with this owners dream!

Nothing fancy and the ice cream is not the best. But I had a very cheap chocolate ice cream soda with three scoops of ice cream. And the service was friendly.

Plan on waiting a bit as (at least when

we visited) a single hard-working gal was handling both drive-thru and in-laundromat, BUT it was totally worth it! The toasted coconut pineapple ice cream is fantastic, and the kiddie cone is generous and a steal at $1. Many other great flavors too, plus milk shakes.
