We had a wonderful time! The atmosphere takes you back in time. Drinking hot coffee, hot chocolate, or your adult beverage of choice out of tin cups while listening to songs of old. The food was fun and actually good. We will definitely return.

Definitely worth the experience!
We brought our 9 month old & found a
Playground for the kids with baby swings, sandpit, shooting range, and train that takes you around the village.
Plenty of cool shops to check out and a great spot to grab snacks or refreshments. (Great margaritas!) 👍
For the main show they usher u to your table where they provide a lovely dinner under the open sky. There is a cover that they will open over event area if u it rains!
Assembly line is organized & goes quick. High chairs available, no strollers inside dining/ show area.
The show was definitely one of a kind, the guys played great music & had some funny jokes lasting about 1 and a half hrs or more & ended at 9pm. However, I believe my 7,9,14 yr old may have gotten restless during the show as it is mostly folk music. They would have liked the other kid activities b4 the show. We went with as a work group & had a blast!

My review is coming from someone who has never experienced the culture/food styles Bar D offers.

This was our first time going there. For anyone who is not American- it’s good to understand what one can expect.

This place is a good way to learn about their culture. We felt it was predominantly about white Americans.

Pros-
- we loved the blacksmith’s shop- the guy explained in detail of how he makes different items. The items are a little pricey but for all the hard work he does- I think it’s totally worth!
- kids can experience train ride- wagon ride - and gold gleaning experiences
- we ordered the combo for food- we didn’t like the roast beef- too chewy but the chicken was excellent- the biscuit was excellent with honey and butter. The potatoes were good too. The lemonade was the best!
- we loved the margarita from the Rocky Mountain chocolate place.
- the music show in the end was amazing too!

Cons:
- you might feel left out in the crowd. Go with friends 🙂
- the bench we sat for dinner was not very comfortable - starts to hurt if we sit for long
- they don’t have a good way for food to go (in case you can’t eat the whole thing)

Tips-
- don’t buy any drinks for kids from Rocky Mountain chocolate factory - wait till food is served and lemonade is free refill unlimited❤️
- make sure you have a lot of space in your tummy before you go to eat supper there😝
- if you want to buy things from the shops there make sure you buy before supper - they don’t open after that!
- take card games so you don’t feel bored sitting on the tables waiting for supper to start

We had a great time! We had 4 grandkids with us, and from the tractor ride, the train ride, the playground, and the small shops, they were kep pretty busy. The show was simply amazing. From the humor throughout to the seriously talented guys, it was very enjoyable.

We found a brochure for this and it was exactly what my family needed. My husband, 17 month old, and myself had a great time. Everyone was so friendly, the drinks were good, my son had so much fun with all the family friendly activities! The food wasn’t bad, it was homemade, and the entertainment was fun too. If you’re around Durango and want an experience you have to go!

While vacationing in Durango, we searched for fun things to do. Bar D Chuckwagon came up as one of those things. We decided to try it out. We arrived early, so we were able to walk around the property and check out what they had to offer. They have some great photo opportunities. They were able to feed everyone very quickly, and everyone was very friendly. Food is always better when enjoyed outdoors! The entertainment kept us laughing all evening. We truly enjoyed our evening!

The food was really good for a Chuckwagon, with a large selection of meats. The attractions before the performance were great, like the train and revolver shooting. The music was on a different level of exemplary. It was catchy, funny, cowboyey, and a little bit edgy. The gift shops were incredible, with lots of fun trinkets. Great experience.
