Decided to drop in for dinner. Staff was great, not terribly busy on a Saturday at 4pm. Food was good! My wife had the Filet mignon and it was super tasty. My French Dip had a good portion of meet on it. Full bar if you need it.

We are from out of town and decided to give this place a try since we didn't feel like cooking tonight and I really just wish we hadn't wasted our time. Wait staff not completely with it and definitely not attentive it took over an hour to get our food i got the combination plate ribs were chewy, beef was hard and tough, chicken was delicious but splinters of bones were left behind, French fries were not cooked at all had a few raw ones. Sausage looked more like a hot dog. I was not pleased with this place at all.

There was only one server on Sunday afternoon, and it was a little busy, but he did a good job.

I had the surf and turf. I added the shrimp but probably should have just got that as the surf part instead of the crab cake. It was okay but not phenomenal.

Fillet was good. Salad bar was nice and fresh. I didn't care for the mashed potatoes.

I will go back when I'm traveling through town. I want to try their chicken fried steak.

The absolute worst part of this family style restaurant is that there is no lock on the men's bathroom door. I also noticed that there is not a stall door for the bathroom stall. So, no privacy whatsoever.

My son had the buffalo burger & fries. I had the BBQ pulled pork sandwich & fries. Both had Pepsi to drink. Since my son had to go back to the DMV to retake his air brakes test. It was a nice lunch before hand. We were both happy enough with lunch that it was worth the drive all by itself. Arvada,Co.

When you are in the mood for steak, you just have to try a place called Boss Hogg's - even if it is just one visit.

1. Having read some of the previous and recent reviews, I was not sure what to expect but we decided to take a chance.

2. Cleanliness - the parking lot was clean of trash, the bathrooms were acceptable, but with two toilets in the ladies' room and no separating wall or doors, it left some to be desired. The rest of the restaurant seemed clean and the tables were not sticky.

3. Staff - welcoming and friendly. Even though not overly busy, she was attentive to filling our drinks when empty.

4. We tried a couple of appetizers including the chicken butts and the snake bites. Both are built around a jalapeño popper and were incredible. Probably the best we have ever eaten.

5. Three of us got a salad from the salad bar and it was just an ok option. Only one type of lettuce and the rest of the options were for toppings like cheese, croutons, bacon bits, cherry tomatoes, etc.

6. On to the rest of the food:

A) Probably best baked potato I have had in a very long time.

B) Homemade bread was very tasty, although the end piece was a little on the crusty side like it had sat for awhile.

C) Being a saloon as well, all types of drinks were on offer.

D) The smoked chicken is possibly the best we have ever had. It was not overpowering and was an entire half of a chicken.

E) This is where things were a bit of a letdown - the steak and the fries. Three different steaks were purchased. The fat was grisly and not one of the three were cooked correctly (two mediums and one medium-well). They were bland at best and obviously not a good cut of meat. This may not always be the case but it was with us. If we returned, we would get the chicken before we got the steak again. As for the fries, they were homemade, but had zero flavor like the chef for the day forgot to add any seasonings including salt.

F) Another purchase was the blue cheese burger which was very tasty and a generous size. Again, fries were not great.

Overall impression, the steak was not worth the price, but the appetizers, burgers, and chicken was definitely worth it. We would probably try this place again even though a little on the pricey side.

Wonderful place. I'd drive down from arvada again to get that bison burger! Plus, the pie slices are ridiculous size. Love it and love the atmosphere. A real American style place to eat. Service was great too.

Food was good but my server Megan on the other hand was rude and short with us since we walked. Felt a bad vibe from her moment we walked in. Then she had the audacity to accuse me of getting two salads from the salad bar. I even had to ask her for my plate for the salad. She was like I gave you two plates you got two salads I was like no the first plate was for the appetizer. Didn’t know I was supposed to use a dirty plate and bring up to salad bar. She was just a little firecracker and very rude. She belched while she was on the phone and couldn’t even say excuse me. lol. Never will I be back!!!
