Outstanding service, drinks and food. Update 10/28/24: I have read other reviews and did not have the same experience as others rating a 1 star? Still a good spot in my opinion and fun to hang out and grab a bite to eat with a drink. As far as the prices, your eating out, it's going to be pricy, but hopefully in the future when things come down, maybe prices will to. It's all relevant to the environment we're in today.

Paying customers don’t have a place to sit. It was $41 for a burger, fries and one cocktail. Thats absurd. I had been hopeful that this place would be a hit but they have to get so many things under control for customers to return. The place was flooded with toddlers and many others just loitering without any purchased products. This diminished the overall experience. It felt like an open city park rather than a restaurant. The burger was good and the drink was tasty. However, it took a very long time to get them. The waiting area for food was also crowded and unorganized. A key to a storage closet was left in the door. Bathroom was not clean. Huge potential here but massively disappointing so far.

We have been to The Yard twice since they opened & both the times we had a lovely experience...

First visit we went with friends & their 2 yr old ... he had a blast playing with all the kids & toys ... we loved the vibe ... "Yard brings the community together" this is exactly what Brentwood is all about... visit farmers market, downtown or some of the restaurants you will get that same spirit...

Second visit we shared our table with others , who were happy to share their space... it's a community seating so don't feel shy to ask...

Here are the items we tried during our two visits-

We tried their beers, cocktails, Smashed burgers, Chicken Sando & filthy fries.

Everything was delicious, cocktails were amazing , staff were very friendly...

Kudos to Attra for their new venture we are so lucky to have them invest in our community!!!

We were excited to try a new place in our area. We'd heard this place gets busy, so we were hoping to avoid crowds and lines. We visited on Sunday around 2pm. There were LOTS of families, and there were almost as many toddlers as there were adults. About 80% were well behaved, but that 20% were fairly off-putting. Not really an issue with the establishment, more so the crowd at the time.

There were a limited number of tables, some of which were taken up by people watching their kids or by others people watching. Since it's first come first served, you may have to eat on a bench instead of a table. I think some signage that gives diners priority to tables - or maybe just add more tables to the area - would be helpful.

I do think they missed an opportunity with the island in the middle of the lot where the gas pumps used to be during it's days as a gas station. If they'd made that a little larger with an extended counter top, that could've doubled as more seating with stools. It would provide great shade, too.

The wait wasn't long, but it wasn't short, so I grabbed a cocktail. I saw they had Hendrick's, so asked for a Hendrick's and tonic. Those are usually made with cucumber slices, but this one was garnished with a lime like a Tanqueray and tonic. Sounds knit-picky, but it let me know what level of drinks to expect going forward - not top tier.

The food was good. They have crinkle cut fries, and they made them perfectly. I think they were double fried because they were prefectly crispy outside and pillowy soft inside. They get an extra star for that! My teenager got the chicken sandwich. He thought it was a bit salty, but I thought it was spot on - possibly better than Chick-Fil-A. I got a double burger without any modifications and they make it pretty well. They're coming close to George Motz's style. I think the burgers were pressed a little too thin, though. There was almost too much maillard and crust. Not bad, but could be better.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. One of our burgers was incorrect, but they made it right quickly. Props for that.

The overall feel was like going to a family picnic or a local park, but no one there was in your family. It seemed like some people wanted to eat while some people wanted to hang out, and that didn't exactly blend well. I think we'll give them some time to sort through their processes and figure out what works best for them. For now, it's a decent start, but for $80 for 4 people without the cocktail, I was hoping for more.

It's a cool spot. The sitting area outside is really nice and has a fair amount of seating. I think the other reviews might be right in that they may want to figure out a way to limit time spent, cause you do end up with a lot of kids playing with parents just occupying space watching them. But honestly, it's a cool spot to chill.

I dropped a star for 2 reasons:
1) It doesn't have draft beer, which feels weird to me because it kinds screams beer garden to me. Not worth a star on it's own though, and had that been my only issue I would have gone with 5 stars. They did have some can options and they were good choices, so that was nice.
2) The Smash Burger was simply too smashed. The "double" was smashed thinner than most regular single burgers. It was almost so smashed it was like cheese skirt thin. They should smash less and they could be on to something. The fries were actually great, well fried. The Chicken Sandwich looked great, but I didn't see it until after I ordered the smash.

Employees were super friendly, and they did have football on the TVs, so that was pretty sweet.

The Yard has been a hit for our friends and family. The food is simple and tasty, the cocktails are excellent, and the staff is warm and attentive! My Son and I will play a jenga game here once a week and crush a smash burger after school pickup. The complaints in this forum should be for lackadaisical parents, not The Yard! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Love the atmosphere! We got the Class of 06 drink—it was kind of like a hibiscus lemonade cocktail, very good! We split the burger and chicken sandwich; the chicken sandwich did not disappoint. Nice addition to downtown Brentwood!

If you're made of money and lacking other options for food and entertainment then I'd say yes try it. Otherwise I'd say no. For $8 the burger was barely better then in n out. Doesn't include lettuce or tomatoes, that's an extra $1. The cocktails are $14 and sounded pretty amazing but the root beer old fashioned was really sweet and couldn't taste much whiskey and the pina colada was even sweeter almost no trace of rum. After my visit there I felt like I payed twice the price of what my experience was worth. Over $60 for 2 burgers and 2 drinks. I personally will stick to my $5 double doubles and happy hours where I can get a proper drink for around $8. If I didn't care about the value of what I payed for I'd feel differently but it's up to you. The burger was definitely quality and worth a try maybe just skip the cocktails unless you like them weak and really sweet. The seating is also uncomfortable if you have anyone elderly or disabled with you.
