Chili John's is pure gold. When people think of classic Americana eateries (often imitated badly by chains and the like) they think of a place like this. Managing to be simple (that's not derogatory - and please don't ever change!) and yet still having everything you could need in a Chili spot, this is somewhere I absolutely love to take people to eat whether it's a casual lunch meeting (like my most recent visit) or to wow a visitor, Chili John's never fails. It's an institution. However you like it, they probably do it - with a choice of beef (spicy or mild), chicken, or vegetarian. The taste is superb and the little shiny oil pool caressing the chili is *chef's kiss*. Authentic through and through. The staff are always great and the service is relaxed and friendly but efficient - never slow and never rushed. You are made to feel welcome. I have never had the pie before but on my most recent visit I was persuaded to try a slice of the Pineapple as the server had made it herself - apparently the first time she'd been given the chance. She nailed it. I love Chili John's and after driving by it many times over the years, I'm so glad it's now on my list of LA favorites. Friends at the studios swear by it - some grew up in the area and have been eating there since they were in school. Burbank's oldest continuously operating restaurant calls itself "iconic" and it genuinely is. Also, it's worth saying that even though this place looks "rough around the edges," "well loved" or "lived in," Chili John's is CLEAN! If the staff aren't serving, they're cleaning something. Everyone there takes great pride in what they are doing. Give me half a reason to and I'll gladly take a 30-45 minute drive from my neighborhood for a bowl of their chili any day of the week.

Family owned and operated. This location offers an incredible chili. The food did not disappoint at all. Had both regular and spicy. SO GOOD.

Very delicious chili, rice and beans! Claudine and her staff were so easy to work with and communication was quick and professional. I was having a hard time finding a chili vendor my wife's baby shower, pregnancy craving, and saw them on LA in a minute just in time to discuss and place my order. Delivery went smooth and my guests were very happy!

I went with Build Your Bowl. Beef chili with spaghetti and all the toppings. It was delecious and lives up to the name! The chili dog was also very good. The server was so friendly and had a smile on her face the whole time. Small parking lot in the back.
